You have descended. October asked you to go down — to grieve, to release, to find what remains when everything else falls away. You went. And now you are here: in the dark, in November, in the quiet that follows a long letting go.

November is not empty. It only looks that way from outside. Underground, everything is full — full of roots, full of memory, full of the slow patient work of becoming. The veil has thinned. The ancestors are closer than they have been all year. The seeds that dropped in autumn are resting in the cold earth, doing what seeds do: preparing.

On November 29th, the final Sunday of the month, we will gather for the most interior portal of the year. We are not going to integrate or rise or resolve. We are going to rest inside the dark and discover that it is not empty. It is inhabited.

The evening moves through five passages:

You will be held in breath, in writing, in sound, and in the particular grace of being gathered with others who are also learning to rest in what they cannot yet see. The dark is not the absence of light. It is where the light is being made.
